This paper presents the discovery of many stars in our Milky Way galaxy that belong to the tidal stream of the globular cluster Messier 68. Tidal streams have been known for a long time, but in this paper we show this tidal stream was produced by tidal perturbation on the known globular cluster M68. The interest of tidal streams is that they provide a way to study the gravitational potential of the Milky Way galaxy and its evolution, and therefore to study the distribution of dark matter in our Galaxy beyond what we could infer from equilibrium models.
